GILLETTE PREFERENCE SEMINAR

ANY CONTRACTOR INVOLVED IN PUBLIC WORKS SHOULD ATTEND

A seminar on the “Wyoming Preference Act of 1971” hosted by the Gillette office of the Department of Workforce Services has been scheduled for Gillette on Wednesday, May 7.

Please note, this information is NOT regarding bidding processes, but instead, an informative meeting regarding Wyoming Statutes and individual Contractor responsibilities for employing Wyoming residents after contracts with Wyoming governmental entities have been awarded.

The seminar will be held at the Gillette Community College in Presentation Hall on May 7th 2014 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Todd Condelario, the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services Preference Act Consultant will be conducting the seminars and will be available for questions after the presentations.

Included in the seminar is a short synopsis of the “Wyoming Preference Act of 1971” as amended, as it pertain to contractors and sub contractors working on public works projects in the State of Wyoming.  We highly recommend any contractor who is involved or intends to participate in any public works projects in the State of Wyoming to attend.

Also speaking will be Steven Melia, with the WY Dept. of Health on Radon Mitigation.
